Into The Light a painting by Charles H White

The Japanese maples in this painting seemed to catch fire when the sunlight burst upon them late one afternoon. The effect was almost theatrical. Without great lighting, there can be no dramatic composition. I prefer to paint late afternoon settings, where long shadows warm the colors and create spectacular hues.
